The Chronological File comprises clippings, correspondence, event programs, press releases, and other related material previously maintained by the VWMF in three-ring binders. Likely compiled by Evans herself, as the material also includes her personal correspondence, the files document the project's trajectory and captures key milestones. Chief among them are the various approvals granted by federal agencies, VWMF fundraising campaigns, speeches Evans and others made to raise awareness of the proposed memorial, Evanss collaboration on the television drama series China Beach, and the memorial dedication and subsequent ceremonies.
Material types include correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, notes, certificates, awards, photographs, transcripts of statements and testimonies, legislation, event programs, publications, clippings, and press releases.

BOX 43-52 Diane Carlson Evans File, 1983-2020
The Diane Carlson Evans File contains correspondence, as well as drafts of her speeches, interviews, awards, curricula vitae, photographs, and publications in her role as VWMF founder, president, and CEO of its board. These documents are largely records that Evans maintained at her home, particularly in the years immediately following the founding of the VWMF, and which supplement those of the organization. The majority of the series comprises incoming and outgoing correspondence concerning the project's development, invitations to speak, and letters from the public, including from children, thanking her for her service and for her efforts to honor the women who served in Vietnam. Other files contain speeches and interviews Evans gave to local and national news networks, veterans' organizations, congressional committees and federal agencies, and universities and schools in paper, video, and audio formats. Barring a few photographs, very few files refer to her personal life, nursing career, or military service.
Material types include correspondence, certificates, awards, photographs, transcripts of statements and testimonies, publications, clippings, and press releases. Some of the news clips, interviews, and speeches are in digital format as video and audio files.
Arranged alphabetically by subject or type of material and thereunder chronologically. The file structure of the digital content maintained as received.
