Prior to this work becoming what is now
known as An outdoor overture, it was used as the "Signature" for a
planned concert series (founded by Vernon Duke) known as the High-Low
Concerts, which took place in 1938. There were only two concert
performances however. The original manuscript of the "Signature" is
filed in the Vernon Duke Collection in the Library of Congress Music
Division. |
