A small number of Charles Mingus's awards and nominations, most received during
his lifetime, comprise the Awards series. Those represented in the collection
include his Grammy nomination for Let My Children Hear
Music and the Newport Jazz Festival Hall of Fame Award. The only
posthumous award in this series is the document establishing October 22 as
"Charles Mingus Day" in the District of Columbia. |
