This series consists of manuals, booklets, songbooks, sheet music, and bibliographies sent to and created and disseminated by the Sub-Committee. Among these materials are instructional works, lists of resources (books and music available to outfit recreational areas of camps and bases), and programmatic items to facilitate troop entertainment.
Arranged in two subseries.
BOX 24-27, 29 Music-Related Publications, 1920-1946
This subseries contains a variety of publications related to instruction and training to perform in or lead bands and singing groups, provide entertainment to service members, and acquire music and recordings for use in camps. Also included are examples of songbooks and sheet music that were made available to military personnel, compendia of skits and sketches generated by the United Services Organization (USO) for use in camp shows and "Army Hit Kits" to be used in sing-alongs, and drafts of songbooks.
