Photographs of Ruth St. Denis, Ted Shawn, and Jacob's Pillow comprise this series.
Some of the images are reprints of their earliest activities. Other notable items
include a photograph of St. Denis in her choreographed work Rangoon in 1926, as well as one of Shawn performing in her 1952 production of Chitra. A later photograph shows Shawn with Liz Thompson, who was appointed the
executive director of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in 1979. |
