This series consists of programs and playbills, primarily for musical theater productions and variety shows, from performances on Broadway and in Brooklyn, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Connecticut, New Jersey, London, and Australia. Many of the playbills contain annotations, and several have corresponding music located in the Show Music series.

This series consists of papers and cancelled checks that somewhat illuminate the daily operations of a music publishing business. The papers include rights and royalties agreements, lists of works, correspondence, contracts, and licenses. These materials primarily concern composers Cole Porter and Kurt Weill.
The cancelled checks are from firms including T. B. Harms; Francis, Day, and Hunter; Jerome H. Remick and Co.; George and Arthur Piantadosi, Inc.; Schubert Music Publishing Corp.; Chappell-Harms; Music Sales Corporation; De Sylva, Brown, and Henderson, Inc.; Famous Music Corporation; Atlas Music Corp; and New World Music Corporation. There are also checks drawn on banks, including several in Canada. Checks are made out to and signed by composers, lyricists, arrangers, and copyists such as Harry Akst, Harold Arlen, Robert Russell Bennett, Gene Buck, Max and Louis Dreyfus, Rudolf Friml, George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin, Edwin Franko Goldman, Ferde Grofe, Arthur Hammerstein, Oscar Hammerstein, Otto Harbach, E. Y. Harburg, Lorenz Hart, Victor Herbert, Herman Hupfeld, Jerome Kern, Ted Koehler, Cole Porter, Ernö Rapée, Richard Rodgers, Sigmund Romberg, Frank Saddler, Albert Sirmay, John Philip Sousa, Dana Suesse, Paul Van Loan, and Vincent Youmans. Other checks are made out to businesses and people involved in daily operations, including music publishers, utility companies, the United States Internal Revenue Service, the post office, shippers, printers, engravers, advertisers, equipment suppliers, studios, paper companies, photographers, and so forth. There are no cancelled checks for 1927.
