| Music by Stucky, 1969-2015 | |||||||||||||
| This subseries contains holograph and printed scores, piano-vocal scores, parts, and sketches for music that Stucky composed between 1969 and 2015. The majority of these contain his annotations. Significant items include materials for Concerto for Orchestra, which was a finalist for the 1989 Pulitzer Prize for Music, as well as Second Concerto for Orchestra, for which Stucky was awarded the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Music. This subseries also contains a substantial amount of music and compositional notes for The Classical Style: An Opera of Sorts that collectively trace the work's development between 2013 and 2015. Additional works represented here include American Muse, August 4, 1964, Four Poems of A. R. Ammons, Silent Spring, The Stars and the Roses, Symphony 2012, and many of his other orchestral, chamber, and vocal works. Some works have correspondence and text laid in. | |||||||||||||
