| The bulk of the photographs are organized in binders assembled by the Gershwin Trust office. The photographs were placed in the binders in general chronological order, dating from 1895 through the 1990s. A small number of the binders are topical, such as the 1935 trip to Mexico and various collections and exhibitions of artwork. Many photographs have multiple associated prints and a fair amount are annotated by Lawrence Stewart. ID numbers written on the back of photographs correspond to digital scans made by the Gershwin Trust office. Corresponding contact sheets and negatives are boxed separately. | |||||||||||||
