This series contains photographs of Burton Lane alone and with others, and events that Lane attended. The photographs of Lane alone are primarily portraits, some of which date from his youth, but there are a few snapshots present as well. Lane appears with others in many photographs, either just in pairs, or in large groups. The events documented in this series include the opening of the American Musical Theater exhibit at the Library of Congress in 1962, Irving Berlin's 50th birthday party, rehearsals and recording sessions for On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, and Songwriters Hall of Fame events. There are a few inscribed photographs of other people, such as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Morton Gould, and Jimmie Durante.
Arranged in four file units: Burton Lane alone, Burton Lane with others, Others, and Events. Arranged either chronologically or alphabetically by subject therein.
