Files concerning Davidovsky’s employment at City College of New York, Columbia University, and Harvard University comprise this series. The Harvard materials include those relating to his retirement from that institution. The composer’s Kaske Prize files document the presentation of this award and contain correspondence, photographs, and the prize certificate. Official documents include Davidovsky’s Argentine Army enrollment book (1952) and various passports. Writings about Davidovsky and his works include a doctoral dissertation and other academic papers. Address books and appointment books capture his contacts and activities. Personal photographs are of Davidovsky’s family members, his home in Vermont, and travels to destinations such as Chile, Jerusalem, and Arizona. Candid photographs include some Composers Conference participants and events. An address database, calendars, personal documents, and some of the photographs are digital files.
