Music Arranged or Transcribed
by Sousa, 1876-1930
|
|
This series contains works by other composers that John Philip Sousa either
arranged or transcribed. The genres covered include popular songs and dances,
selections from operas and operettas, and classical and romantic works. The
materials are primarily holograph full scores for band, though there are also
holograph full scores for orchestra and photocopies of parts. Of particular
note are Sousa's arrangements of Arthur Sullivan's operettas HMS Pinafore, Iolanthe, The Pirates of Penzance, and
The Sorcerer.
