This series documents aspects of Pearl Bailey's personal life including her death; and in a very limited way, her relationships with her mother, siblings, and children. There is an extensive set of scrapbooks containing condolence letters and cards, a large number of perpetual enrollment cards, and the guest books from Bailey's funeral. Materials documenting Bailey's United Nations activity are found in this series, as are photographs and scrapbooks documenting her trips to the Middle East and Africa.
Materials in this series also include calendars and schedules, clippings, correspondence, and realia.

This series documents Pearl Bailey's seven years as a student at Georgetown University through her course notes, class assignments, and selected annotated textbooks. For many of the assignments both Bailey's handwritten drafts and the submitted paper are present. Photographs document her campus experiences as well as commencement events. The scrapbooks contain congratulatory correspondence from Bailey's friends and admirers.
