This series documents Pearl Bailey's seven years as a student at Georgetown University through her course notes, class assignments, and selected annotated textbooks. For many of the assignments both Bailey's handwritten drafts and the submitted paper are present. Photographs document her campus experiences as well as commencement events. The scrapbooks contain congratulatory correspondence from Bailey's friends and admirers.
Materials include annotated books, correspondence, course notebooks and assignments, photographs, programs, and scrapbooks.

This series documents many aspects of Pearl Bailey"s and Louis Bellson's lives. Each volume covers multiple subjects; single subject volumes are located in the series they document. Among the topics included are the Amtrak crash rescue, Bailey and Bellson tours, baseball, honorary degrees, production of Member of the Wedding, performance reviews of The Pearl Bailey Show, and volunteer activities. There is also a significant amount of correspondence with political figures, foreign leaders, and ambassadors. Noteworthy topics and correspondents are identified in the notes for each volume. Some letters are annotated with Bailey's response.

This series contains images of Pearl Bailey, Louie Bellson, their children, friends, and the many public figures they met and befriended during Bailey's career. Included are formal portraits of Bailey; "official" photographs with presidents, ambassadors, and cabinet officials; and more candid shots with Bellson and others.
These is an extensive set of slides documenting family activities, tours, and Bailey's travels. Each slide folder represents one set of images as received by the Music Division. File names derived from image content were assigned to the slides for ease of use. Dates for these materials come from the original slide boxes.
Additional topically specific photographs are located throughout the collection.
