BOX 3-4, 8-9 MAPCASE-FOLDER 1 Photographs and Artwork, 1920s-1999
This series contains both Library Documentation Project Photographs and Other Subjects. The Library Documentation Project Photographs consist of snapshots from the interviews and recording sessions carried out by the Music Division through funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF) and are attributed to photographer Nan Melville (1949-2022). Subjects include former Martha Graham company principal dancers dating to the 1940s through 1970s. The Other Subjects include images obtained through other means, including Library of Congress events, gifts from Graham legacy artists and colleagues, and other sources. Where a specific dance is identified in photographs, Martha Graham is presumed to be the choreographer unless otherwise attributed.
Arranged alphabetically.
