Scope and Content Note
Official papers generated by the civil government during the colonial period, or related to it. The subgroups are ordered by the importance of their association with the viceregal authority. The series is divided into bandos and cédulas, grants and permits, administration, the affairs of the corregimiento of Mexico City, reports, relaciones de méritos, patents of nobility, inductions into honorary orders, temporalidades, and the affairs of Indian villages.
