Scope and Content Note

The Digital Backups series comprises various files and directories copied mainly from Blackburn's computers, although they also include those of her assistant, Maura Clancy, and computers used by fellows and others working in Blackburn's laboratory. The Backup Folders relate to her teaching and research endeavors as a professor at the University of California, Berkeley and as a professor and department chair at the University of California, San Francisco. The files include correspondence, PowerPoint presentations for speeches, abstracts and drafts of articles, reviews of articles for journals, grant proposals and related material, teaching files, and administrative files documenting Blackburn's activities as a professor and department chair.


Material types are digital files comprised of correspondence, memoranda, lecture notes, PowerPoint presentations, abstracts of articles, reviews of articles, drafts of articles and other writings, grant files, teaching files, biographical material, curriculum vitae, photographs, charts, and visual materials.
